Guitarist, Saudiq Khan hails from Cape Town, South Africa, and as a child lived in District Six, where he experienced the Cape culture to the full.

At an early age he was inspired by Flamenco guitar music and was determined to find a way to learn the music he loved. He studied with a local Flamenco guitarist and paid his own way by leaving school at fifteen, to help support his family.

In 1989, Saudiq had the opportunity to travel to Seville, Spain, to experience the true guitar culture in the heart of the Flamenco world. During his nine-month stay, he studied under various Flamenco aficionados, learning as much as he could from their technique and musicianship. On his return to South Africa, he became involved with many Spanish bands and Flamenco dance groups, performing country-wide. He soon become known for his fiery Flamenco touch, and in 1992 started his own Flamenco guitar school.

A soloist and composer of note, Saudiq has amazed South African audiences with his Flamenco rhythms and fiery compositions.
