Stanislav received his first accordion at the age of five and has loved playing and singing ever since.

He began formal accordion training in his native town of Shumen, Bulgaria, and taught at the Constantine Preslavsky University until his move to Cape Town in 1992.

Stanislav has featured on many recordings, including those for the SABC, Koos Kombuis and Daniel Pascal, and has released two solo albums featuring solo accordion and full Tango ensemble. A staple of local productions and performances, he has also accompanied British vocalist Elaine Paige at the 1999 Sun City Super Bowl, and performed with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor at Cape Town’s Nelson Mandela 46664 Concert.

His local performance highlights include the KKNK Fees, the Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards and Astor Piazzolla’s Concerto for Bandoneón and Orchestra with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, which led to his 2005 tour to Buenos Aires to study with Bandoneón maestros Ricardo Fiorio and Hugo Satorre.
